Tammy Wallin is the Early Intervention Technical Assistance Specialist, Kansas Inservice Training System (KITS)- University of Kansas Life Span Institute at Parsons, Kansas University Center on Developmental Disabilities.
Tammy Wallin regularly participates in and provides professional development and training for Part C teams and EC professionals at the local, state, and national level. These activities include providing in-service training to local Part C programs, providing peer coaching, developing training materials, supporting state lead agency Part C staff, and presenting on evidence-based topics at both state and national conferences. Her passion for ensuring providers use evidence-based intervention practices in accordance with the Mission and Key Principals for Providing EI Services in Natural Environments and the DEC Recommended Practices is one of the many priorities Tammy shows utilizes continuously in in her current role as a trainer and technical assistance provider with the Kansas Inservice Training System. Supporting professionals to enhance the quality of their services ultimately leading to better outcomes for infant, toddlers, young children, and their families is a goal Tammy has not only for Kansas but also for all professionals involved in the DEC EI COP.
Tammy holds a B.S in Elementary Education with endorsements in Early Childhood Education and Elementary Special Education. She holds a dual M.S. in Early Childhood Special Education and Educational Leadership. Tammy has experience in a variety of educational environments including teaching kindergarten/kindergarten special education, preschool special education, and early intervention. She has had leadership roles in the early childhood field such as local program coordinator, family service provider, and service provider for the Pottawatomie Wabaunsee County Infant Toddler Program. Tammy currently serves as an Early Intervention Technical Assistance Specialist for Kansas Inservice Training System (KITS) – University of Kansas Life Span Institute at Parsons.
Tammy is a longtime member of the Division for Early Childhood of the Council for Exceptional Children. She has served in the presidential rotation and continues to serve on the board of the Kansas subdivision. She also serves as a Kansas Association for Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health as the endorsement Co-Chair and as an Executive Board Member.
