I am a mother of 4 and a National Board Certified teacher in early childhood special education and elementary education. I have sat on both sides of the table as a parent and teacher developing IFSP and IEP's. Having taught self-contained, I help lead the development of inclusive pre-k classes still used today. I believe in universal design for learning, including multi-modality instruction and visuals. In 2012, I started LessonPix, an online company that enables families and professionals to create visuals and instructional materials easily and at an affordable price. (Oh the power of a first-then, literacy experiences, and embedding instruction in play!) In 2018, I started a non-profit learning center in beautiful Tarpon Springs, offering social skills and language play classes and private therapies. Over the years I have presented at several conferences on topics such as visual supports, play-based instruction, Go Gaby Go, core vocabulary, and of course - LessonPix.
