I'm excited to invite you to a special webinar our Community of Practice is hosting in partnership with the Center for Racial and Disability Justice (CRDJ):
Before the Pipeline Starts: Preschool Discipline, Race & Disability Rights
Monday, April 27, 2026 · 12:00 PM CST · Live on Zoom
This conversation lives at the intersection so many of us work in every day. Black preschoolers are 17% of enrollment but 31% of suspensions. Children with disabilities are 24% of enrollment but 62% of expulsions. The law exists to protect these children - and yet the data tells us the law alone has not been enough.
I'll be joined by Jordyn Jensen of CRDJ and Dr. Deidre D. Jones, whose work on expulsion and discipline in early childhood has shaped so much of our thinking.
This is the kind of conversation the IESJ CoP was built for - one that names the intersection, grounds us in the data, and sends us back into our work with something useful.
I hope to see you there.
